Direct from our mill, MWD FURN20-06 is an exclusive, handwoven Harris Tweed upholstery fabric in grey barleycorn. Supplied with our official Harris Tweed trademark label, this beautiful low impact fabric is perfect for soft furnishings, curtains and cushions.

Of course we had to put the 501 settee cushions onto our daybed for the picture, very few 3 seater 501’s about!

No really though, it looks very good on our Ercol Cushion Shop website!

Anybody unsure re daybed & single bed, the difference at a glance is that the single bed has a much higher (bedhead) at one end, and of course it is a much wider mattress.

I’ve put a picture of a single bed in the pictures above. A previous customer brought it to us for a new mattress!

Worth a note. Most of our Ercol cushions, including the 355 Daybed are cut on a CNT machine.
Not wishing to bore our readers, this technique means that the cushions are exactly the same every time. The machine has software guided cutting. Often we use a whole block of foam for our daybeds, getting 21 mattresses from each block, all precisely the same for each and every block & for each and every mattress we cut! So for a customer who likes a change of cover, it’s a doddle! Just choose a different colour or weave and give us a shout! We also have some true bargains for returning customers!

As you know, we don’t have any Jubilee frames, so on top of the daybed again! We don’t know the detail of customer’s own fabric, but the other 2 are Cristina Marrone Zaffiro. Looking brilliant.

Going out on first day of the month to Sheffield, this set of Ercol Jubilees, a 2/s settee & bolsters + 2 chairs in this fantastic Linwood Faroe Woolen Herringbone fabric.

As you can see, we don’t have any Jubilee frames, so on top of the Pimlico Navy Daybed it sits proudly!

This Mid Grey Stitch is is of our 3 best sellers. The others are Charcoal Stitch & Light Grey Stitch.

Dispatching soon this Ercol Settee. The fabric is from Ross Fabrics, it’s called Kilburn Plain Flint SR12912. Our customer chose this Ross fabric & it does look so good. They phoned up Ross and asked for several samples & decided on this one. The scatter cushions are made from her own Bute fabric. A great combination!

Dispatching today a number of church kneelers in our fantastic Queen’s Blue fabric.
Each one of these kneelers is fitted with a “D” ring for hanging on the back of the pew in front.
The church is in Milnethorpe in the English Lake Disdrict.

Of course the fabric is used for lots of Ercol cushions and was first used at the Queen’s Hall Edinburgh, where we did a complete refit of their listed building pews a few years ago.

We very recently delivered these church pew cushions.
Several of the pews nearest the front of the church were angled. The customer had sent us paper patterns for these angles. It’s always concerning tht we get these right! The customer had in fact done a brilliant job, so consequently all was correct!

Our driver delivered this Ercol 305 Rocker. (as seen in September blog) Same size as the 305 but not seen too often! Looks brilliant in our Charcoal Stitch. (Camira Citadel Ralstone), why not ask for fabric samples?

Our fantastic light grey herringbone fabric with plain piping, looking good on an Ercol 835 cushion going out today. Some people like no piping at all, as on previous item, the wine footstool cushion. While some prefer contrast piping as on the item before the footstool, the 766 in our mid grey herringbone with lime piping.

We might rename this fabric.

This Ercol 355 daybed is covered in customer’s own fabric from Curtain Factory. It’s Warwick Krayola Khaki.
Krayola is a woven plain fabric for upholstery with the benefits of FibreGuard Stain Free Technology. This means spills and household stains can usually be removed.

This set of kneelers in customer own chosen size & design, in our Lewis Grey fabric. They look fantastic.
We do individual orders for kneelers + we do whole churches. Around 300 went to an Oxford church earlier this year. They had hanging rings for on the back of the pews.

Ercol originals have piping around the bottom of the cushion.

A customer sent this Flyte Fabric from Nina Campbell for her 4 Ercol 265’s. Looking good against the background of the outgoing Harris Tweed daybed.

We got this follow up picture from a customer who bought our special deal daybed in Ice Blue.
Luna the dog has already featured, but we like this picture!

A customer sent us this picture and asked if Ercol would ever use this timber for making any of their products.
Not unless Ercol start making cricket bats was our reply!

We were in for a massive surprise when we sent this delightful Irish customer her 2 sets of Ercol Daybed cushions.

The order was all ready to go, to be packed by us & dispatched by our usual DPD couriers. They told us that in order to send abroad we must have a Commodity Code number, due to Brexit regulations. We struggled to get the proper code but did eventually manage it. We had charged the customer a pre Brexit deliver charge. When we got the invoice from DPD the cost to us was £170! We hoped to get some back from the customer only to be told that she’d been landed with a huge tax bill at her end!
If we could be convinced that all of this money is going to our NHS, well we might consider sending more into Europe. Untill then we won’t sadly be dealing with any more European customers!

So sad, we had quite a few happy customers in France & Germany this last year.

This fabric will brighten even the darkest February night.

Out today. Our Hannah’s first time with a Timorous Beastie, she showed no fear.

The herringbone is one of our new fabrics. Contrasting piping looks so good,especially with our Venus Petrol on the herringbone as above.

A customer just bought this combination. Looks very refined.
She also had 2 scatters the opposite way round.

Looks good on our painted frame. The seat cushion on the 477 is the same, just with a lower back.

A lot of our customers prefer this model without a back cushion, & have a scatter cushion instead. Then we make the seat cushion longer so that it reaches the spindles at the back.

The Ercol Love Seat is much desired, A beautiful delicate design.

We can only photograph on our daybed, ‘cos we haven’t got one of our own. The Dove grey fabric from Fryett does it proud.

The Ercol Single Bed Mattress is the biggest Ercol cushion of all.
It’s just the same length as the Daybed but six inches wider.
We can only photograph it next to our daybed, ‘cos we can’t afford an Ercol single bed. However, our grey stripe velour looks fantastic on this mattress. Please ask for fabric samples.
